Tenants Fall Behind On Rent Payments

Rising rent has impacted tenants hard, resulting in 24% of them falling behind with their payments, according to Right Move and Reeds Rain rent has risen sharply in August up by 1.4%. At the same time the number of properties available for rent fell and demand remained high.

80,000 tenants fell behind on their rent in August compared to July. In August one fifth of rent went unpaid by the due date. This is based on a cross section of 18,000 rental properties.
